Where to See Fall Foliage in Gahanna

Posted on Wednesday, October 21, 2026 by Visit Gahanna.

This week, there’s no better time to explore Gahanna’s parks and trails than fall.

As the leaves have turned to shades of red, orange and gold, Gahanna’s natural spaces have become the perfect backdrop for a crisp autumn walk, a scenic bike ride or a peaceful afternoon outdoors. With the Big Walnut Creek running through the community and miles of trails connecting parks and neighborhoods, there are plenty of places to enjoy the changing colors. We have put together a list below of spots to check out before October ends.

Friendship Park - 150 Oklahoma Ave.

Friendship Park is a beautiful place to slow down and enjoy the season.

The park features walking paths, a community garden and access to the Big Walnut Creek area. In the fall, the surrounding trees create a colorful setting for a leisurely walk. Bring the family, take your dog for a walk or find a quiet spot to enjoy the scenery.

Creekside Park - 117 Mill St.

For a foliage experience with a little more to explore, head to Creekside Park in the heart of Gahanna’s Creekside District.

The park sits along Big Walnut Creek and features walking paths, gardens and plenty of opportunities to enjoy the outdoors. The surrounding trees and landscaped areas take on a whole new look in the fall.

It’s also an easy stop to pair with the rest of your day. Grab a coffee at one of the three coffee shops nearby. Explore the shops and restaurants around Creekside after your walk. Our team recently ran in the Spooky Shuffle 5K and spent time throughout the different trails in Creekside – there are so many views!

Big Walnut Trail - 409 E Johnstown Rd.

If you want to immerse yourself in nature, spend some time on the Big Walnut Trail.

The trail follows the Big Walnut Creek corridor through Gahanna, offering a chance to see the area's natural landscape from a different perspective. The trail offers plenty of opportunities to enjoy the changing leaves while getting some fresh air. In addition, you can walk along the Gahanna Municipal Golf Course and see the course in its peak fall form.

Hannah Park - 6547 Clark State Rd.

Hannah Park offers another opportunity to experience Gahanna's natural scenery.

With sport fields and courts, open green spaces and access to a shelter house, the park is a great place to enjoy a fall afternoon outdoors. Bring a picnic, take a walk or spend some time exploring the park before continuing your Gahanna adventure.

Gahanna Woods - 1501 Taylor Station Rd.

One of the most underrating spots in Gahanna is Gahanna Woods.

This spot is a nature preserve and is a great spot for folks who like exploring beyond a simple trail. You will spend time looking at the beautiful trees and can sit at different public benches throughout the walk. A fantastic spot for your pets as well!

Grab your camera, bring a friend and come see Gahanna in all its autumn colors.

Foliage timing can vary from year to year depending on weather conditions. For the best chance of seeing peak color, plan your visit now through late October and check local conditions before heading out. PLEASE NOTE: Most Gahanna Parks are open from sunrise to dusk.
