Take a Fall Walk

As the leaves begin to change, the city’s parks, trails and natural areas offer plenty of opportunities to get outside and take in the season.

Take a stroll through Friendship Park, where walking paths wind through nearly 23 acres of parkland alongside Rocky Fork and Big Walnut Creek. Creekside Park & Arboretum is another great spot to see the season’s colors, with walking paths along Big Walnut Creek and more than 40 species of labeled trees throughout the arboretum. For a longer walk, follow the Big Walnut Trail, a 4.6-mile paved trail connecting several Gahanna parks and scenic areas. And for a more wooded experience, explore Gahanna Woods & State Nature Preserve, where trails lead through a natural wet-woods habitat.

Peak fall foliage in Gahanna will be around Oct. 15–25, 2026.

Taste the Flavors of Fall

Fall is also a great excuse to make your way around Gahanna in search of seasonal flavors. Consider this your unofficial Gahanna Fall Food Bucket List:

Grab a pumpkin donut at Resch’s Bakery. Fall wouldn’t be complete without a pumpkin treat, and Resch’s brings back its pumpkin donuts for a limited time each year. Try a cinnamon swirl. Gahanna Cinnamon Swirls offers rotating seasonal flavors. Stop by Sgt Coffee Co to grab yours today. While you are there – Find your favorite fall coffee. SGT Coffee has a special caramel apple latte available for the month of September. Joy Local Coffee Co. also has seasonal fall drinks available including pumpkin spiced, butterscotch and spiced apple. Make your own fall food tour. Turn a day in Gahanna into a fall food & drink adventure! Start your morning with a donut or pastry at Resch's Bakery, then settle in for breakfast at Café Creekside. Their patio is so beautiful – especially during the cooler mornings of fall. For lunch, try a local favorite like Marlow’s Cheesesteaks or 101 Craft Kitchen. Spend the afternoon exploring Gahanna’s parks or trails. When dinnertime rolls around, grab a table at Three Creeks Kitchen + Cocktails before ending the evening with a craft beer and some fall scenery at Edison Brewing Company. Of course, that’s just one idea. Mix and match Gahanna’s restaurants, coffee shops, bakeries and breweries to create your own perfect fall food tour. What are some of your favorite fall flavors? Do you have a favorite?

We hope you enjoy the upcoming season as we see the beautiful leaves change and the temperatures lower.
