2013 Holiday Lights Parade and Season

Gahanna, Ohio offers six weeks of Holiday Fun for all ages! The festivities include Winter Wonderland (Nov. 16-Jan. 1) and Holiday Tree Lighting, followed by the spectacular Holiday Lights Parade (presented by AEP OHIO), the annual Holiday Character Breakfast (presented by Giant Eagle) on December 14 and more!   For more information about these events, call the Gahanna Convention & Visitors Bureau at (614) 418-9114.

Holiday Lights Parade presented by AEP Ohio (Friday, Nov. 29)
The 2013 Holiday Lights Parade (presented by AEP Ohio) was held at 6 p.m. Friday, November 29. Did you miss seeing one of the largest nighttime illuminated holiday events in the Midwest?  If you missed the floats, marching bands, equestrian entries and Santa Claus (all covered in thousands of lights), you can watch it HERE, courtesy of Gahanna TV!

 
HL-craft1webThe Holiday Character Breakfast presented by Giant Eagle (Saturday, Dec. 14) The seasonal family fun continues with the popular Holiday Character Breakfast (presented by Giant Eagle) on Saturday, Dec. 14 at the Olde Gahanna Sanctuary (82 N. High St.).  Enjoy holiday characters, ornament crafts, face painting, storytelling and a pancake breakfast. Seating is limited for each session. Sessions: 8 a.m., 8:40 a.m.(SOLD OUT), 9:20 a.m. (SOLD OUT), 10 a.m.(SOLD OUT), 10:40 a.m. (SOLD OUT), 11:20 a.m. and 12 noon. Tickets are $10 at the door (if seats are still available). Children under 3 years are free . To learn more about this event, go HERE.  (No refunds.)

Gingerbread House ContestHoliday Gingerbread House Decorating Contest (presented by The Chocolate Tree Sweetery)
Tap your creative talents for our 2013 Gingerbread House Decorating contest presented by The Chocolate Tree Sweetery. Prizes will be awarded in several categories! The contest is open to families, businesses, groups or individuals–amateur or professional. Create your house from scratch or a kit. Entries must be made from edible materials and must be attached to a cardboard or plywood base. Entries must be dropped off at the Gahanna OH Convention & Visitors Bureau (167 Mill St.) between Nov. 14 -Dec. 13.  Houses will be displayed at Creekside Plaza Nov. 16-Dec. 16. Judging will end at midnight on Friday., Dec. 13. Winners will be announced at The Sanctuary on Dec. 14 at the Holiday Character Breakfast.  (Those not present will be notified by phone on Dec. 16.)  To vote, Visit Gahanna Facebook page or visit The Chocolate Tree (81 Mill St.).  For complete rules and an entry form, go HERE

Santa webVisits with Santa
Come and meet the jolly old elf, Santa Claus! Santa is taking time out from his busy toy-making season to talk with little ones about visions of sugar plums, toy soldiers and ponies. Best of all, he’ll be dividing his time away from the North Pole at two Gahanna locations! Visit with Santa at the Ohio Herb Center (110 Mill St.) between 9 am-1 pm on Saturdays, December 7, 14 and 21. Little ones can also visit with Santa at the offices of Lew Griffin Insurance Group (77 Mill St.) on Friday, November 29 following the Holiday Lights Parade (until 9 pm) or from 6-8 pm Fridays, December 6, 13 and 20; as well as from 4-7 pm on Saturdays, December 7, 14 and 21.
