4 Outdoor Activities in Gahanna, Ohio
Gahanna is home to some of the best outdoor activities in the Columbus area! At Visit Gahanna, we’ve put together a small list of just a few of our favorite ways to spend a sunny day outside.

1. Taking the Dogs to Pooch Playground at Pizzurro Park
With a four-acre play area for dogs, Pizzurro Park is a fantastic place to take your furry friend. Pooch Playground features different fenced-in green spaces, based on dog size, and an agility area for dogs of all sizes. Paved paths through the park make it handicapped accessible. You’ll have just as much fun as your dog!

2. Exploring Creekside Park
Located in the heart of Gahanna, Creekside Park is a charming place to spend an afternoon. From fishing and wading to meandering along the walkways, Creekside Park is the best way to enjoy the beauty of Big Walnut Creek in the spring. Pack a lunch, or order carryout from your favorite local restaurant, and have a picnic in the park!

3. Biking in Academy Park
Academy Park hosts multipurpose nature trails that connect Woodside Green Park, the Gahanna Municipal Golf Course, and the Olde Gahanna area, which creates a wonderful bike path to follow. Grab your bike and helmet and complete the entire trial. Once you finish, challenge a friend to complete the path!

4. Bird Watching and Walking at Gahanna Woods
With over 139 acres of trails, meadows, and creeks, Gahanna Woods State Nature Preserve is one of the best spots in Gahanna to bird watch. Finding an open bench by the pond or a creek is a serene way to clear your mind and enjoy nature. Consider keeping a journal to record how many species of birds you see every time you visit!
